Bariatric Surgery

The Center for Weight Management learned it has been named a Blue Distinction Center for Bariatric Surgery by Blue Cross and Blue Shield (BCBS) of Minnesota and the BCBS Association.

An extended family of five collectively sheds 744 pounds following weight-loss surgery at the Center for Weight Management.

The Center for Weight Management now offers the LAP-BAND® System as an option for patients. This procedure places an adjustable gastric band around the upper part of the stomach which is then filled with saline. This creates a new, smaller stomach pouch that holds only a small amount of food.

The Center for Weight Management was designated a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence by the the American Society for Bariatric Surgery (ASBS).
